Hi there…it’s been a bit since I published my newsletter here. I have allowed myself to be swamped in my business, serving my clients, whom I love…but at the cost of neglecting being CEO of my own business. Does that resonate with any of you?
I just turned 52 on April 30th…I know that 50 is supposed to be THE big milestone…but while I feared it, I didn’t “feel it”. Nothing changed. 52 on the other hand…not so much the day but the months leading up to it, I have been feeling the shift. I have a great business, doing really well, supporting other entrepreneurs to build their businesses…which has always been and still is, my passion. BUT – I am starting to feel the weight of it.
Not that I want out, but that I want to change, make a change, shift the way that I do business.
Has that happened to any of you around this milestone? I have some irons in the fire for breaking out in new directions entirely that I am super excited about and they are so close to being ready…I’ll share more this month on at least one of them…but for my CORE business, I am still looking to make a shift…exactly HOW isn’t coming to me just yet…but it’s bubbling quietly beneath the surface like a small brook thawing in the spring…not a giant change, but something to lighten the weight that I carry for my clients – I have NO idea what that is going to look like…but I’m excited by the possibilities and being open to whatever comes.
I know this is a newsletter – but for this edition – I am hoping for a conversation with my GenX Entrepreneurial community. Do you resonate with this? Did it happen to you? What was the result? Can’t wait to hear what you all say! It’s funny because so many GenX communities are about time and what we remember from our childhood (which is fun and I enjoy!) …but those of you who are here with me now and who read when I publish…it’s about HOW we do business…we’re just different and I so resonate with and respect all of you…I hope you’ll chime in and share with me this week your stories!
All the best,
Christine
(PS: Thanks so much to those of you who wished me a Happy Birthday here on LinkedIn – I think I responded to all of you individually, but if I missed any of you, please know that your wishes brought me joy!)
